VERNON - A 28-year-old man believe to be responsible for sending a 61-year-old man to hospital with serious head injuries made his first court appearance yesterday.
Victor Jackson has been remanded to Kamloops Regional Correction Centre and is expected to make his next court appearance July 10.
The assault victim remains in Kelowna hospital in critical condition as a result of the injuries.

VERNON - An assault last night put a 61-year-old man in hospital with serious head injuries.
Mounties were called to a townhouse complex on 20 Street near 40 Avenue about 9:30 p.m. June 24. A 28-year-old man was arrested for aggravated assault. The older man remains in ICU in Kelowna. His face and head were injured.
The Vernon/Okanagan Serious Crime Unit continues to investigate but is not releasing any further details at this time.
