Professor Santa Ono, UBC’s 15th President and Vice-Chancellor, will share his early priorities and interests for the university at a special evening conversation in Kelowna next week.

Ono, who took office in August, hopes to gather input from UBC alumni and community members on how to continue to strengthen the university on both campuses. Ono is an accomplished researcher and educator, and a firm believer that dialogue is crucial for sharing ideas and bringing about transformation.

After the official program, guests are invited to network with Professor Ono and other participants at a post-event reception.

This free event is open to the public, but registration is required. For more details, contact alumni.events@ubc.ca or call 1-855-427-5767.

And Professor Ono will be the guest speaker at the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Friday, October 28—beginning at 11:45 a.m. Theme of his talk is: UBC’s Contribution to the Innovation Economy. For details, or to purchase a luncheon ticket, visit the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce website
