Trio of suspected thieves connected to high value shoplifting in Summerland

FILE PHOTO

SUMMERLAND - Charges are pending against three men after high value goods were stolen from an automotive supply store in Summerland yesterday.

Police received a report of shoplifting from the store yesterday, Jan. 30, in the 9500 block of Main St. in Summerland. A green pickup truck was spotted leaving the scene by witnesses.

While on patrol in the area officers spotted the truck matching a description given to them by the story employees, according to a RCMP media release. Three Kelowna men — aged 34, 35 and 36 — were arrested and charges are pending.

Police believe three businesses have been targeted by the suspects and potentially more.

Cpl. Christopher Richardson says the witness reports from store employees helped find the suspects.

"This was an excellent response from the business employees to provide accurate, timely information which allowed our officers to locate and arrest the suspects in this case," Richardson says in the release.

If you believe your business may have been a target of this or any other theft, call the Summerland RCMP at 250-494-7416.
