KAMLOOPS - The Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s Library System is hosting a free informative talk by local triathlete Yvonne Timewell at the Kamloops Library on Tuesday, March 31, at 7 p.m.
Timewell will talk about her experiences becoming the 2014 Ultraman champion and world record holder.
Timewell competed in many Olympic triathlons as well as half and full Ironman races before she decided to tackle the Ultraman triathlon, which is a three-day race. Day one consists of a 100-kilometre swim and a 144.8-kilometre bike ride. Day two features a 273.5-kilometre bike ride, and day three winds up with a 84.4-kilometre run.
Timewell says she owes much of her success to careful preparation with her crew and she is eager to share some of her “behind the scenes” experiences that led to her becoming a 2014 Ultraman champion and world record holder.
The event is free, but space is limited, so please contact the library at 250-372-5145 to reserve a spot.
