PENTICTON - To coincide with National Tourism Week, Tourism Penticton will be hosting Penticton's first ever Instameet on Monday, May 30th at 2:00 p.m. starting at the SS Sicamous.

If you are not familiar with the term, an Instameet is a group of photography enthusiasts from all different backgrounds who get together to explore and photograph a selected area of the city. At the end of the meet everyone comes together to talk about their experience and share their images on Instagram.

"As well as being great fun and an awesome way to meet new people, Instameets will help us to create awareness, demonstrate pride in our city and build community involvement" said Kelly Hopkins, Executive Director, Tourism Penticton.

Tourism Penticton would like to invite you to join Penticton's first ever Instameet, along with Mayor, Andrew Jakubeit and other key tourism influencers. Anyone with an interest in photography or social media is encouraged to come along and explore and share some of the very picturesque parts of our city.

Instameeters will meet at the SS Sicamous on Lakeshore Drive at 2.00 pm and a map and guidelines will be provided.  Participants will then be free to explore and take pictures of whatever grabs them. The walking tour will include stops along Lakeshore Drive and Downtown finishing off on Ellis Street.  At the end of the tour, Coconut Express will provide a shuttle to the Visitors Information Centre at 553 Vees Drive, where Instameeters will have the opportunity to share and post images and chat with staff and visitors.

If you are unable to attend on Monday 30th, but would like to find out more about this and future instameets, please follow #instameetpenticton.
