PENTICTON - The 2015 Young Stars Classic is just around the corner and tickets could be in bigger demand than ever this year.

TIcket sales for the tournament, which will take place Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 14, might be exceptionally brisk this year as the number one National Hockey League draft pick for the Edmonton Oilers, Connor McDavid, is set to take to the ice at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

A number of other notable prospects are also expected to appear at the tournament, which is now in its fifth year. Prospects from the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets include many of those teams’ top draft picks. More than 80 players who participated in past tournaments have gone on to NHL careers.

Tickets for the tournament went on sale this week. A limited number of six game ticket packages are available for $60, providing purchasers with a 30 per cent savings. Other ticket packages include a VIP package for $90 and $260, plus applicable fees.

Tickets are available online at www.valleyfirsttix.com, by phone at 1-877-763-2849 or in person at the Valley First Box Office, the events centres or the Wine Country Visitor Centre.
