Three charged in separate meth busts

ALLEGED METH DEALER WAS CARRYING A MACHETTE

The Penticton Drug Task Force was busy in February making three meth busts in just six days.

Michael William Harfman, 45, was arrested Feb. 14 when he was pulled over on Eckhardt Ave. Police say he had methamphetamine and trafficking paraphernalia with him and was charged with possession for purpose of trafficking.

The other two busts took place one after the other Feb. 20. Brannick Joseph Rioux, 18, was arrested on Main Street just before 6 p.m. The RCMP drug task force reports he was carrying methamphetamine, marijuana, a cell phone and two concealed weapons, a knife and a machete. He was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a concealed weapon.

The next arrest happened at 6:28 p.m., also on Main Street. RCMP charged Sarah Noreen Scott with possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a prohibited weapon, saying she had in her possession methamphetamine, cash, a cell phone and a prohibited weapon.

All three were held for court and then denied bail.
