Things to do on the first weekend of spring break in Penticton

PENTICTON - Hockey and health highlight activities in the Peach City this weekend, as spring break gets underway.

The Penticton Vees will host the Vernon Vipers for game five of the Interior Division semi-finals Friday, March 11, at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at Valley First Box Office at the South Okanagan Events Centre and at the Wine Country Visitor Centre. Tickets are also available online at www.ValleyFirstTix.com and over the phone at 1-877-763-2849. Prices are $16 adult, $14 senior and free to students and children.

Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour comes to Penticton March 12 and 13. Billed as the go-to hockey festival, residents are invited to join the tour and hockey personality Ron MacLean at the South Okanagan Events Centre starting at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 12. The weekend will feature activities, contests, and a chance to meet NHL alumni, including Penticton’s Andy Moog. The two day event concludes Sunday with the Rogers Hometown Hockey outdoor viewing party in a game featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings.

The Okanagan Healthy Living Fair happens on March 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. The fair features healthy living demos, healthy eating sessions, speakers and healthy living assessment stations, along with more than 80 information booths, all under one roof, and all for free.
