Ten teenage boys accused of sharing child pornography, facing serious charges

LAVAL, Que. - Ten teenage boys have been arrested near Montreal in a sweep that targeted the sharing of child pornography.

The teens, all between 13 and 15 years old, are expected to appear in youth court in Laval later today.

They are facing various charges, including the production, possession and distribution of child pornography.

Police say there were at least seven alleged female victims.

Authorities say some of them shared sexually explicit images that were subsequently sent along to other people.

The investigation started after a staff member at one Laval high school called police.

Cellphones, laptop computers and tablets were all seized as part of this morning's Operation Magma.

The arrests and seizures involved 40 police officers, half of them specialized investigators.
