OSOYOOS - A fire at the back of a fitness facility and bowling alley on Highway 97 last week was deliberately set, according to Osoyoos RCMP.

Around 3:45 a.m. on July 2 RCMP members noticed smoke coming from the rear of Vengeance Fitness and Kobau Lanes Bowling Alley on Highway 97. They found flames starting and immediately called the fire department.

Fire fighters were able to quickly douse the flames but smoke and water caused extensive damage to the rear of the gym.

It has been determined the fire to be suspicious and deliberately set.

Anyone with information is asked to call Osoyoos RCMP at 250-495-7236 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
