KELOWNA - A convenience store was the target of an armed robbery early Saturday morning and police are asking the public for help in locating two suspects who remain at large.

At around 2 a.m. on Nov. 23, RCMP received a report that two men entered the Mac’s convenience store on Richter Street and threatened the clerk with a handgun. They escaped on foot with a small amount of cash.

Police tracked the suspects to a Verve apartment in Glenmore, and one male was taken into custody. The 27-year-old Kelowna man was later released without charges but pending further investigation.

The handgun that was used in the robbery is believed to have been stolen.

“There was a theft earlier in the night,” Cst. Clark says. “We believe that the two events are related.”

RCMP asks that anyone with information on this or any crime call Kelowna RCMP at (250) 762-3300.
