Suspect at large following Subway hold-up

KELOWNA - Police are searching for a potentially dangerous suspect following an attempted robbery of a Kelowna restaurant last night.

Around 9 p.m. staff working at the Subway on Lawrence Avenue and Gordon Drive were confronted by a man who entered the shop with what looked like a knife in his hand. Wearing a single white glove, he demanded they hand over money from the cash register. His attempt was unsuccessful as the employees fled to a back room in the restaurant, locking themselves in.

The man left the store without taking anything or attempting to break the cash register.

Police are providing the following description to help identify the suspect:

- Caucasian

- About 5 ' 6" with a slender build

- Last seen wearing a zipfront hoodie with white string, blue jeans, dark shoes and a single white glove.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Kelowna RCMP Constable McBride at 250-762-3300, or contact crimestoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net
