Kamloops residents get a double dose of good news this weekend.

Not only is it a long weekend, but Environment Canada is calling for nothing but blue skies and sunshine.

Wednesday and Thursday are expected to see some clouds with temperatures of 17 C and 15 C, but it's all up from there.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are forecasted to see temperatures in the high teens even reaching into the 20s.

Environment Canada is forecasting Friday to be sunny with a low of 3 C and a high of 17 C. Saturday looks similar with sunny skies and a low of 3 C and a high of 18 C. The weekend forecast peaks on Sunday with a sunny 21 C expected as the high and 5 C expected for the low.

With the extra day off and nice weather, there is plenty to do in the area.

Tourism Kamloops boasts a variety of outdoor activities such as geocaching, hiking, golf and the Wildlife Park. A detailed list can be found on its website along with some indoor activities and '107 things to do in Kamloops.'

Or for those wishing winter would stick around just a bit longer, the last day of winter operations at Sun Peaks Resort is April 7, so it's a great opportunity for some spring skiing before it closes.
