SUN PEAKS - A man who suffered serious injuries after a hit and run in Sun Peaks last summer has recovered, but the driver and vehicle behind the injuries has still not been located.

A group of males were walking single file along Sun Peaks Road around 2:30 a.m. on July 19, 2015, when a pickup truck hit one of the pedestrians and sped away. The 30-year-old victim suffered a serious head injury as well as lower body injuries and was rushed to hospital. He has since recovered.

Police were unable to locate the dark colour older model pickup at the time, and while many tips have come in, RCMP have been unable to identify the vehicle or the driver, Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a release.

RCMP are again asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact the Kamloops Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
