PENTICTON - Penticton’s community radio station continues to move forward in its broadcasting quest following the completion of a successful fundraiser.
Jackie Del Rizzo with Peach City Radio says in a media release they exceeded their Raise the Radio fundraising campaign goal of $30,000 by over $6,000.
The campaign ran for a year as the fledgling community radio station raised funds to outfit its new studio in the Cannery Trade Centre through a series of business sponsorships and personal donations, the release says.
Volunteers have been working at the new quarters to make room for the radio station’s sound board, microphones, computer, transmitter and antenna. They will be testing and learning how to use the new equipment in the coming weeks.
CFUZ has also hired its first employee, Ophira Horwitz, with a grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada.
