Stolen Lumby vehicle found scorched and shot up

This stolen vehicle was found two days later scorched and full of bullet holes.

LUMBY - Police are appealing to the public for tips after a stolen vehicle turned up torched and shot full of bullet holes last week.

The vehicle, a silver 2000 Audi, was reported stolen from Catt Avenue in Lumby April 6. Two days later, it was found four kilometres up the Noble Canyon Forest Service Road in Coldstream, Cpl. Henry Proce said in a release.

“The vehicle had been burned and was reduced to a mere shell, the car also shot full of holes from what appeared to be a shotgun,” Proce said.

Around ten shotgun shells were found around the vehicle.

Police currently have no suspects, and are hoping the public can help. Anyone with information about the theft and arson are asked to contact the Lumby RCMP at 250- 547-2151 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477.)
