PENTICTON - A stolen 2011 Corvette that was driven through a Penticton showroom's bay glass doors has been found in Surrey Saturday morning.

Dealership owner Ken Huber did not expect he'd hear of the stolen Corvette ever again.

He said this is the first time something was stolen from the showroom and he plans on examining his security systems.

The Corvette went missing from the Huber GMC dealership at 933 Westminster Ave. West on Oct. 24. When officers arrived on scene the silver 2011 Special Heritage Edition Grand Sport Corvette sped past them on Eckhardt Avenue toward Highway 97.

Police gave chase but stopped pursuing due to the suspects' erratic driving and high speeds clocked at about 220 km/h.

A West Kelowna RCMP roadblock was set up but the vehicle did not appear.

Police are continuing their investigation into the break-in and are asking that anyone with information regarding the break-in and theft contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crimrestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
