Want to unclutter your life, and sell, trade or give away some of your gently used stuff? Then there’s still time to register for the fall Trunk Sale at Okanagan College.
Organized by the Regional Waste Reduction Office, the Trunk Sale is one huge community garage sale in the Okanagan College campus parking lot Saturday September 28th from 8am until noon.
Waste Reduction Facilitator Rae Stewart says the event is all about reuse and recycling so less ends up in our landfill. “Just wheel in, and do all the selling from the trunk of your car, van or back of your pickup. It’s a great opportunity to share your un wanted treasures with someone else that could use them.. Our previous events have been very well attended, and with well over 100 people already registered, it promises to be a busy day of shopping and bargains!”
As an added feature, if you have leftovers after the sale, the Salvation Army, Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, Planet Earth Recycling, and the Canadian Diabetes Association will be on hand with trucks to accept your donations. That way you don’t have to load up your vehicle and cart your wares home again, instead you can donate to a good cause.
If you’d like to take part as a vendor at the Trunk Sale, you need to pre- register beforehand as space is limited. Deadline for registrations is Wednesday September 25th. To register, call the Regional Waste Reduction Office at 250.469.6250.
If you are not interested in selling and would simply like to come out and shop on sale day, the Trunk Sale runs from 8am until noon Saturday September 28th at the South Campus of Okanagan College, 1000 KLO Road. (Parking lot #17 next to the Student Residence Buildings.)
