PENTICTON – Some people call him the Space Cowboy. Some people call him the Gangster of Love.
The Steve Miller Band is adding Penticton to their Canadian tour.
The band’s 2014 Canadian Tour will stop at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Friday, April 11, 2014.
The Canadian tour is a warm up. The Steve Miller Band will be co-headlining with Journey on an American tour that wraps up in Las Vegas in August.
The Steve Miller Band has sold more than 30 million records in a career spanning more than 40 years. They were a corner stone of the burgeoning FM rock radio industry in the early 70’s. Their first hit The Joker shot to number one in 1973.
The Steve Miller Band was one of the defining groups of the classic rock genre.
The group’s hits include Fly Like and Eagle, Rock ‘n Me, Jet Airliner, Jungle Love, Swingtown, The Joker and Abracadabra.
The Steve Miller Band is still producing new music. In 2010, they released Bingo!, which was nominated as Blues Rock Album of the year by the Blues Foundation. Let Your Hair Down was released in 2011.
Tickets will run you $49.50, $69.50 and $94.00. They go on sale Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m.
