Spring into Spring - YLW’s Spring Travel Event showcases European travel and more

February 04, 2014 - 11:51 AM

Kelowna International Airport’s annual Spring Travel Event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the main airport concourse.

This year’s event will highlight the huge range and variety of spring and summer destinations easily accessible from Kelowna, from Los Angeles to Whitehorse to Europe. Together with its airline and travel group partners, YLW will showcase not just the ease of travel but the range of tours, activities and adventures available to travellers.

The event will feature information booths on air travel, hotels, travel packages and tour groups, while invited experts will provide informative and entertaining talks on available packages and specialty travel such as European river cruises.

Guests who attend are invited to park in the long-term lot and bring their parking voucher to the event to be validated for free parking.

In addition, YLW and its partners are offering the chance to win a trip from YLW to London with Air Canada, complete with a YLW travel pack, free airport parking and much more. In addition to the UK trip, ballots purchased at the event – one for $5, three for $10 or 6 for $20 – will also be entered to win a $250 travel voucher with Air Transat. You do not need to be at the airport at the time of the 3 p.m. draw on Feb. 15 to win - but it’s sure fun if you are!

All money raised from the sale of the prize-draw ballots will be presented to Sing For Your Life Foundation BC, a non-profit program committed to improving the health and well-being of older Canadians. Sing for Your Life facilitates community-based participatory singing and music sessions for seniors who are aging at home. Currently the Foundation offers three active Silver Song Clubs in Kelowna and West Kelowna and is aiming to expand within the Okanagan, B.C. and across Canada.
