South Pandosy Transit Exchange information session

KELOWNA - The public is invited to an information session about the final design plans for the South Pandosy Transit Exchange construction project, Thursday, February 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the restaurant area of Urban Fare in the Mission Park Shopping Centre.

According to a media release from the city, the project team from the City of Kelowna and consultants from Boulevard Transportation Group have already looked at feedback obtained from a public open house and have considered ways to improve pedestrian access and safety to and form the new exchange location, on Lakeshore Road, adjacent to the Mission Park Shopping Centre. Following the transit improvements, more road improvements will be considered on the same section of Lakeshore Road between Lanfranco and KLO Road. This will include additional on-street parking and bike lanes.

The project should be finished in June, according to the release.

This exchange is one of the many transit projects in Kelowna that are part of B.C. Transit’s RapidBus Project, which includes creating and upgrading transit facilities throughout the region.
