Whitecaps forward Kekuta Manneh suspended one game, will miss Timbers clash

Vancouver Whitecaps forward Kekuta Manneh has been suspended one game by Major League Soccer's disciplinary committee.

Manneh stepped on New York City FC midfielder Federico Bravo's shin as he was going for a loose ball in the 68th minute of Saturday's game at Yankee Stadium.

Manneh was not shown a card on the play in a game the Whitecaps lost 3-2, but the committee determined the incident "was serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent."

The 21-year-old was also fined an undisclosed amount.

Manneh, who has one goal in 10 appearances in 2016, will miss Saturday's home game against the Portland Timbers.
