Heads up, drivers, a late season dump of snow is headed for higher elevation routes on the Trans-Canada highway today and tonight.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Highway 1 from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass where 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected by end of day.

The weather office says an area of low pressure over the BC Interior will bring heavy snow at times today before tapering of early this evening to a few flurries.

Locally, you can expect a high temperature of 11 Celsius in Kelowna today with a 70% chance of rain showers or wet flurries. That drops to 40% in Vernon and Penticton and 30% in Kamloops. Sun should return throughout the week with temperatures between 12 and 15 C throughout the region before setting up for a beautiful weekend. Saturday is expected to reach 19 C in Kamloops and 18C in the Okanagan.
