KELOWNA - A blanket of white smoke that appeared over much of Kelowna shortly after noon Thursday is from a controlled burn of wet wood at Tolko Mill.
The smoke could be seen all over the city as it was pushed south by the wind along Okanagan lake.
Kelowna Fire Department says the mill is burning off a large quantity of wet wood and there is no threat to public health or safety.
