PENTICTON – Following the success of Phase I and II, Skaha Hills, the resort-style, residential community, announced the launch of its newest Phase today. Phase III, The Vistas, will showcase 24 terraced villa homes of a design never seen in the Okanagan before.

The Vistas combine the best traits of a condo, a townhome, and a rancher into one unique concept. At full build-out the new phase totals $48 million. Homes will be released for sale on July 15. The Vistas at Skaha Hills was named for its spectacular views and offer the feel of an open, rancher-style floor plan with the convenience and cost effectiveness of a condominium. The Vistas will feature 8 buildings terraced up the hillside to maximize the panoramic views of Skaha Lake, Okanagan Lake, Penticton and the vineyards.

PLAY Winery, a $5.2 million hillside winery and vineyard, from Stage West Hospitality and the centrepiece of the community opened June 3rd. The Okanagan’s newest winery features a tasting lounge, wine shop and an indoor/outdoor bistro offering great food and amazing views.

Skaha Hills is Penticton’s first resort-style, residential community and is located on a 550-acre site overlooking some of the most beautiful views in the South Okanagan. Further details released today revealed that interested buyers will have 3 spacious open floor plans to choose from that vary in size from 1,950 sq. ft. to 2,160 sq. ft. of total living space.  All homes will be one-level and feature a large private outdoor living space, and high-quality soundproofing.

“This is the chance to live in the first home of its kind in the Okanagan. Customers looking to downsize have been asking for efficient, rancher-style, one-level floor plans, they want a nice view, a garage, nice outdoor living space, and privacy,” says Curt Jansen, vice president, sales and marketing, Skaha Hills. “Set in the vineyards, our new home is a hybrid between a rancher, a condo, and a townhome, having integrated elements from each style. With some of the best views in the community, The Vistas have been receiving overwhelming interest.”

New statistics have revealed that the Okanagan real estate market is booming. According to the South Okanagan Real Estate Board (SOREB), there was a 95 per cent increase in dollar volume of residential sales in May of 2016 ($127 million) compared to May of 2015 ($65 million). There was a 66.7 per cent increase in the number of sales in May of 2016, 325 units, compared 195 units in May of 2015. The average home price has increased 12.7 per cent to $357,322 from $317,158 (Source).

Appealing to buyers seeking a full-time residence or recreational property buyers, the master-planned community will offer several kilometres of hiking and biking trails, an amenity centre, parks, and community gardens. A golf cart friendly path makes for easy access to the 9 hole Skaha Meadows golf course and the Skaha Hills beach club.

Designed with multi-generational markets in mind, Skaha Hills will consist of seven planned phases offering a range of home designs and layouts. Built by Greyback Construction, a partner in Skaha Hills, 40 homes in the first phase are now complete and occupied.

Contributing to the strong consumer demand in the Okanagan is the low Canadian dollar, as snowbirds sell their US vacation homes for a nice profit.

For Canadians, the Okanagan’s temperate climate is very appealing,” says Jansen. “Here, you can live an active lifestyle year-round. With beaches, wineries, golf, spas, mountains, and a great culinary scene, there is no shortage of activities.”

Interested parties should register at www.skahahills.com to receive more information, including renderings, floor plans and video fly over. Prices start in the low $400,000s. Ten single family homes in Phase II remain available.
