KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Blazers forward Deven Sideroff was selected in the third round, 84th overall by the Anaheim Ducks at the 2015 NHL Draft on Saturday.

Sideroff had a terrific season with the Blazers posting 17 goals, 25 assists and 42 points in 64 games this season. He was named the Blazers Rookie of the Year along with goaltender Connor Ingram.

The 5’11” and 175-lb forward was ranked 134th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings, but was selected well ahead of his ranking at 84th overall.

The speedy 18-year-old was an impactful player for Canada at the Under-18 World Championships in Switzerland this past April. He posted three goals and four points in seven games, as he helped Canada to a bronze medal.

The Summerland native is the 99th player in franchise history to be chosen in the NHL Draft dating back to 1982. He is the first player from the Blazers to be selected by the Anaheim Ducks.
