SALMON ARM - Police have determined a bomb threat phoned into Shuswap Middle School earlier this week was a hoax and police are still trying to figure out who is responsible for the disruption.

It was the fourth prank bomb threat since the 2014-15 school year.

Staff and students were evacuated from the school yesterday, Nov. 8, because of the bomb threat.

The report came in around lunchtime, according to North Okanagan School District spokesperson Alice Hucul. All students were moved to South Broadview Elementary where they were picked up by guardians, or went home on their regular bus route.

Salmon Arm RCMP Sgt. Scott West said the school received a threat from an unknown caller.

Students returned to school today, Nov. 9.
