Canucks prospects take a break from training earlier this summer.

PENTICTON - Playing in the NHL is a dream for many young hockey players, and a bunch of young stars will get closer to making that dream a reality at the Young Stars Classic this weekend in Penticton.
Prospects of the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets will be playing at the Young Stars Classic hockey tournament, starting Friday, Sept. 12 at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
In the last three years, over 65 players who’ve played in the Classic have gone on to play NHL games. A total of 12 first round draft picks will be participating in the event this year.
The Canucks Prospects Training Camp will begin Thursday, Sept. 11 with a 2:30 p.m. practice on the main rink. All on-ice practice sessions and pre-game skates will be free and open to the public, however tickets need to be purchased for games.
Tickets can be purchased for single games or in tournament package at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC, the Penticton & Wine Country Visitor Centre, or online at valleyfirsttix.com.
