KAMLOOPS – As crews work to upgrade a sewer main, construction is moving from Aviation Way to Tranquille Road and it could affect many people’s daily commute.

Construction on Tranquille Road starts on Monday, May 29 and should last eight to 12 weeks.

Work will start east on Tranquille Road from Aviation Way to Crestline Street. When that stage is complete, crews will move west from Aviation Way to the bend, according to a release from the City of Kamloops.

Construction workers will keep single-lane alternating traffic or add a temporary bypass route. When the bypass road is being used, Ord Road is the temporary dangerous goods route from 8 Street to Tranquille Road. Locals should expect an increase in truck traffic on the route.

Most of the work will happen from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some night and weekend work is a possibility.
