Serious injuries in North Okanagan collision

VERNON - A woman is in hospital being treated for serious conditions after a collision involving a semi truck last week.

Police were called to the crash around 6:25 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says.

A semi truck headed west on Highway 97 towards Kamloops had collided with a pickup truck attempting to turn left onto the highway from St. Annes Road.

The 47-year-old driver of the semi was not hurt.

Emergency crews used the jaws of life to free the 46-year-old woman driving the truck and she was taken to hospital with serious injuries. As of Monday, Dec. 5, she is in stable but serious condition, Noseworthy says.

The highway was closed last Thursday while a RCMP traffic analyst examined the scene.
