Search on for North Shore robbery suspect

KAMLOOPS – A man who produced a knife in a robbery at a North Shore convenience store this morning is on the run and RCMP are now looking for help in finding the man.

Police officers are searching for a male suspect after the Mac’s Convenience Store on Tranquille Road was robbed before 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush, a spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP, says a male entered the store and produced a knife in front of the clerk to steal cash and cigarettes. The clerk was not injured.

The K9 dog was sent to search for the man but could not locate him.

The suspect is described as wearing a brown jacket, gloves, blue jeans, dark running shoes and a baseball cap. Bush says the man’s face was covered up at the time of the robbery, but he was wearing glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-828-3000. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 250-828-3215.
