UPDATE: Body of missing Coldstream man found

Heinz Schwartz went missing Sept. 15. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vernon RCMP.

VERNON - Vernon Search and Rescue located the body of a Coldstream man in the water by the wharf at Kal beach.

RCMP divers were called and they recovered the body shortly after 1 p.m. today. The case is now in the hands of the B.C. Coroners Service.

An RCMP appeal to the public to help them find the man was put out Sept. 16.

Heinz Schwarz had been missing since 11 p.m. Monday. Police believe he walked from his house in the 8800 block of Mariposa Place in Coldstream to go to Kal Beach.

RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said an initial sweep of the area turned up nothing. Search and Rescue was called in to assist.
 
Police spoke with his wife, who said she'd been in contact with his friends and nobody had seen him.
