COLDSTREAM – Search and rescue volunteers came up empty handed getting called out to look for a car reportedly at the bottom of a deep ravine in Coldstream Saturday afternoon.
The searchers were called in by the RCMP to search the gulley above Buchanan Road around 1:30 p.m.
A caller said they say a vehicle roll down the steep embankment.
The Vernon Search and Rescue helicopter winch rescue team were lowered into the ravine to look for the vehicle and the people inside.
A car was found, but no one was inside.
“There was no indication that anyone was in the vehicle when it went over the bank and the area around the vehicle was thoroughly searched as well,” search manager Leigh Pearson says in a media release.
There are unconfirmed reports it was stolen vehicle and joined half a dozen other cars at the bottom of the ravine.
