UPDATE: 12:27 p.m. July 31, 2013

Police in Alberta are asking for public assistance finding a former resident of Salmon Arm. He's been missing now for two weeks.

Valentine (Val) Degenhardt, 45, was last seen July 17 at about 5:30 p.m. in Barrhead Alberta. He was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, licence plate BJS 0889. The vehicle had a SportRack model 40-1154-2, positioned on the passenger's side of the roof.

Degenhardt's family is very upset about his disappearance because it's out of character for him to be out of touch for so long. Police say it's unlikely he's the victim of foul play. The investigation is ongoing with Edmonton RCMP assisting.

Degenhardt is a Caucasian male with green eyes, brown and grey hair and a grey goatee. He is about 5'8" tall and 200 pounds.

RCMP are also hoping someone knows something about a burned-out SUV seen on a flatdeck heavy duty truck July 30 at about 7:30 a.m. The truck was traveling south on Highway 2, just north of St.-Albert, Alberta.

Anyone with information can contact Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4520 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
