KELOWNA - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-2 on Wednesday night in Kent, Wash., winning the team's second round WHL Playoff series in four straight games.

Five different Rockets scored as Kelowna erased a 1-0 Seattle lead in firing 47 shots on the Thunderbirds and racing back for the win.

Goals by Damon Severson and Cole Linaker within 2:03 late in the second period got the Rockets rolling and Kelowna added three third period markers to put the series away.

Marek Tvrdon, Tyson Baillie and Nick Merkley also scored for Kelowna while captain Madison Bowey had two assists.

Jordon Cooke improved to 8-1-0-0 in the playoffs as he faced 44 shots, including 19 in the third period as the T-Birds fought to stave off elimination.

The Rockets will now face the winner of the Portland-Victoria series, which the Winterhawks lead 3-1 with game five set for Thursday night.

Kelowna has now lost just once in the WHL Playoffs, after beating the Tri-City Americans in five games in the first round, and beating Seattle in four straight games in the second round.
