KELOWNA - The Downtown Kelowna Association’s annual Block Party is coming up on Saturday, July 23. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will end at approximately 4 p.m., with festivities along Bernard Avenue and in Kerry Park.

The following road closures and on-street parking restrictions will be in effect on Saturday, July 23 from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Bernard Avenue (From Richter to Abbott Street)
  • Abbott Street (From Bernard to Lawrence Avenue)
  • Mill Street (From Bernard to the alley north of Bernard Avenue)
  • Pandosy Street/Bernard Avenue intersection
  • St. Paul Street/Bernard Avenue intersection
  • Bertram Street/Bernard Avenue intersection

Vehicles parked on these streets during the closure will be courtesy towed to the City Hall parking lot or will receive notification of location of towed vehicles.

In addition, the parking lot at the corner of Mill Street and Kerry Park will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is available at both Chapman Parkade on Lawrence Avenue and the Library Parkade on Ellis Street.

Water Street and Ellis Street will be open for north and south bound vehicles and transit buses. Drivers are asked to use extra caution in the area due to the high volume of pedestrians on Bernard Avenue.

Transit bus routes #1, #2, #7, #9, #10 and #11 will be rerouted in order to exit the Transit Exchange. Visit the B.C. Transit website for route and schedule information.

Service disruptions and traffic delays may occur throughout the day due to road closures. Motorists are advised to plan ahead to avoid delays.
