Riverside stabbing has police looking for suspect

KAMLOOPS – RCMP are investigating a riverside stabbing which took place on the 100 block of Tranquille Road around 5 p.m. on May 21.

According to Cpl. Cheryl Bush, a man went to a tented area to speak with a woman when he was approached and stabbed by another man unknown to him.

The victim’s stab wound was in his abdomen and is not life-threatening. He was transported to Royal Inland Hospital.

Police used a police service dog to locate the suspect but couldn't track a scent.

The victim described the suspect as heavy set with brown curly hair, wearing a blue shirt and around 25 years old.

Police do not see this attack as random; the men knew each other.
