Recalls this week include children's eating utensils, infant carriers, and Christmas trees

A line of children's eating utensils that can pose a choking hazard to infants, along with infant carriers that can fail, are among this week's recalled consumer products. Others include jackets, Christmas trees, and chargers.

Here's a more detailed look:

CHILDREN'S EATING UTENSILS

DETAILS: Edoche's Cubetensils sets of children's eating utensils. Each set consists of a spoon and a matching fork with stainless steel heads and plastic handles. The handle has three segments that rotate to create design combinations and the sets were sold in seven different models/designs: alphabet, moon and stars, nature, princess, rockets, trucks and veggies. They come in a brown cardboard box with a clear viewing window in the front. "Edoche" is printed on the bottom of the utensils and "Stainless Steel China" is embossed on the metal heads. The phrase "Not for children under 3" appears on the back of the product's packaging. They were sold from May 2012 through November 2013.

WHY: The utensil's handle can detach, posing a choking hazard to infants.

INCIDENTS: One report of the utensil's handle detaching and a baby putting it in his/her mouth. No injuries have been reported.

INFANT CARRIERS

DETAILS: Playtex Hip Hammock infant carriers designed to strap the baby against the caregiver's body at the hip. It is made of a soft, quilted fabric and intended for babies that are from 15 to 35 pounds. The child seat is attached with straps that wrap around the carrier's hips and shoulder. "Playtex Hip Hammock" is printed on a label sewn into the front of the carrier. All model numbers are being recalled. Model numbers 05300, 05301, 05302, 05306, 05307 and 05308 are sewn into the inside panel below the instructions for use. They were sold at Burlington Coat Factory, Target, Walmart, juvenile product, baby and discount stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from June 2004 through December 2008 and January 2010 in Canada.

WHY: The buckles on the waist and shoulder straps can crack or break, posing a fall hazard to the child.

INCIDENTS: 87 reports of the buckles cracking or breaking, including two reports of injuries, where one infant required emergency room treatment.

HOW MANY: About 305,000 and 36,000 in Canada.

CHRISTMAS TREES

DETAILS: Twinkling Pine pre-lit artificial Christmas trees sold under the Enchanted Forrest brand. The recalled model number 287-1261 and UPC code 741895425478 are printed on the retail box and on a red tag attached to a tree branch. They were sold at Menards stores nationwide and online at www.menards.com from September 2013 through November 2013.

WHY: The electrical components of the tree's light strings can overheat and melt, posing fire, burn, and shock hazards to consumers.

INCIDENTS: Two reports of the tree's light strings overheating, melting or smoking. No injuries have been reported.

HOW MANY: About 1,800.

AEROSOL CLEANER

DETAILS: Wahl Total Care products used to clean and lubricate hair clippers, trimmers and shavers. The product was sold in six ounce aerosol cans. The white label on the can reads "Wahl Total Care" and "Clipper, Trimmer, Shaver." Model number 03772 is printed on the back of the can. They were sold from June 2009 to October 2013.

WHY: Vapors from the propellant in the product can ignite upon contact with hair clippers, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

INCIDENTS: Three reports of incidents of the product igniting, including one report of minor burns

HOW MANY: About 720,000.

JACKETS

DETAILS: Yoki girl's faux leather jackets with a zipper front closure and bearing a Yoki Girls label at the neck. They were sold in girl's sizes 7 through 16. The jacket comes in black or charcoal, with drawstrings through the neck area. The coats have snap button pockets on each side and a zippered pocket on the top left chest area. Both the black and charcoal jackets have a grey hood. Style number JK2503G is on the product care label located on the lower left inside seam. They were sold at Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide January 2012 through August 2013.

WHY: The jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children.

INCIDENTS: None reported

CHARGERS

DETAILS: HP Chromebook 11 power supply/chargers. The model number of the charger is MU15-N1052-A00S and is stamped on the face of the battery charger that has the outlet pins. They were sold October 2013 through November 2013 and included with the Chromebook 11.

WHY: The computer's charger can overheat and melt, posing fire and burn hazards.

INCIDENTS: Nine reports of chargers overheating and melting during use. There is one report of a small burn to a consumer and one report of minor property damage to a pillow from an overheating charge

COCKTAIL GLASSES

DETAILS: Bristol Valley Cocktail Glasses with Sheer Rim, model 8555SR. The glasses are made of clear, colorless glass in a 7.75 ounce cocktail design with a thin rim. They were sold individually and in 24-piece cartons for commercial users. Commercial customers for use in foodservice establishments, at the Libbey Outlet Store in Shreveport, Louisiana, and at various independent liquor stores nationwide from January 2013 through November 2013.

WHY: The glasses can break unexpectedly, posing a laceration hazard.

INCIDENTS: 16 reports from commercial customers of glasses breaking, including one report of a minor laceration to a restaurant patron when the glass broke during use.

HOW MANY: About 218,000.

BIKE SUSPENSTION FORKS

DETAILS: Evolution 2013 mountain bike suspension forks. They are model year 2013, 32 and 34 Evolution Series with 120mm to 160mm of travel. The Evolution name and logo are on a sticker on the front fork with the FOX brand name logo. Recalled forks can be identified by the serial number, which is found on the underside of the crown after removing the front wheel. The forks were sold as original equipment on some of the following 2013 model year mountain bikes: BMC, Cannondale, Commencal, Diamondback, GT, Kona, Lapierre, Norco, Orbea, Raleigh, Rocky Mountain, Santa Cruz, Scott, Specialized and Trek. A small quantity of suspension forks were sold to retailers or distributors as aftermarket accessories. They were sold between August 2012 and October 2013 as original equipment on bicycles.

WHY: The suspension fork's damper cylinder/piston can separate and cause the front wheel to detach, posing a fall hazard.

INCIDENTS: One report of an incident resulting in shoulder injuries in Italy.

HOW MANY: About 11,250 in the U.S. and 1,250 in Canada.

BOOTS

DETAILS: This recall involves 45 styles of Red Wing men's steel toe work boots in sizes 11 to 18 and widths ranging from B to H depending on the size and style. The boots have 6, 8, 10 or 11 inch ankle height and were sold in brown, black and maroon leather. The following style numbers are included in the recall: 2206, 2211, 2223, 2226, 2230, 2238, 2249, 2254, 2270, 2404, 2405, 2406, 2408, 2412, 2414, 2426, 2491, 3505, 3507, 3508, 3526, 3528, 3568, 4208, 4210, 4273, 4406, 4414, 4425, 4433, 4435, 4436, 4437, 4438, 4445, 4481, 4483, 4484, 4494, 22406, 22408, 52406, 52408, 82406, and 82408. Date codes between 10/12 and 11/13 are included in the recall. The style number, date code and Red Wing Shoes are printed on a label inside the boot's tongue. They were sold from October 2012 through November 2013.

WHY: The steel toe cap in the boots could fail to protect the wearer's feet in an impact.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

HOW MANY: About 105,000 pairs in the U.S and 9,000 in Canada.

HOODIES

DETAILS: Browning youth Buckmark junior hoodie sweatshirts. The affected SKU's included in the recall are 3011332001, 3011332002, 3011332003, 3011332004, corresponding to sizes small through extra-large. The camouflaged print pullover sweatshirt comes with black drawstrings and has a yellow embroidered Buckmark logo located on the front of the garment. They were sold at Academy Sports + Outdoors stores and online at www.academy.com from August 2012 through October 2013.

WHY: The hooded sweatshirts have drawstrings around the neck area that pose a strangulation or an entanglement hazard to young children.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

CANDLE RINGS

DETAILS: The recalled decorative pine berry candle ring imported by Yankee Candle Company Inc., of South Deerfield. It is made of synthetic green foliage with synthetic red berries and pinecones. The ring measures about 9 to 10 inches in diameter and has an opening of about 4 to 4 1/2 inches. Candle rings with UPC number 8 86860 02558 8 or 8 86860 06357 3 on a tag attached to the underside of the ring are included in the recall. They were sold at Hallmark and Yankee Candle retail stores nationwide, Yankee Candle catalogues and online at Yankeecandle.com from September 2013 through October 2013.

WHY: The candle rings' synthetic foliage and berries are flammable, posing a fire hazard.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

HOW MANY: About 15,000 in U.S. and 2,000 in Canada.
