RCMP searching for man who tried to rob worker at knife point

KAMLOOPS - Kamloops RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who attempted to rob a construction worker at knife point.

Kamloops RCMP say a man approached a lone construction worker on the job at a new home in the Campbell Creek area around 1:40 p.m. today, July 26.

"The suspect had a 3-4 inch knife and demanded the worker’s wallet," Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in the release. "When the worker told him it was in his vehicle, the suspect ran away."

The suspect is described as being of medium build, approximately 5’ 5”, with blond hair and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a black ball cap, a black shirt and jeans. In general, he appeared to be very dirty.

If you have seen this man or know who he is, please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
