PENTICTON - Three people were arrested for drugs and possession of weapons on Saturday night at the Highland Motel after police were called to calm down a party.
Police first spotted a sawed-off shotgun inside the room. After an investigation of the room, police seized additional weapons, a large quantity of MDMA (Ecstasy), other illicit and prescription drugs, a stolen bicycle, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Three people, including a 33-year-old Penticton woman with an arrest warrant, were arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon. The woman remains in custody, while a 35-year-old Penticton man was released without charges.
Darcy Emil Lenko, 50, is charged with weapon related charges, possession of stolen property and drug trafficking materials. He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014.
