NAKUSP, B.C. - The body of a 19-year-old Quebec man has been pulled from a West Kootenay river, 10 days after he disappeared.

RCMP in the southeastern B.C. community of Nakusp say searchers located the body of Zacharie Blouin on Aug. 7.

The teen had been camping with friends and was reported missing July 28, after failing to return to the campsite from an evening fishing trip.

Some of his belongings were found along the bank of the Halfway River, about 600 kilometres east of Vancouver, but there was no sign of Blouin.

Police say the death is not suspicious.

The matter has now been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.
