PENTICTON - With the help of many generous community donors the Penticton and Area Cycling Association has raised almost $40,000 to date to fund the construction of a pump track.

The track will be located on City of Penticton parkland near the Poplar Grove Rd. parking lot at the trailhead of the popular Three Blind Mice mountain bike network. It is also conveniently located along the KVR trail. Construction will begin this month with an estimated two week construction window.

“We have all of our funding in place thanks to our many generous donors,” says Laura Harp, president of PACA. “This has allowed the work to begin ahead of schedule.”

Pump tracks consist of a series of rollers and banked turns where a rider can move around the track using momentum created by pumping their upper and lower bodies. A pump track can be used by all ages and skill levels and is a fun way to get active.

“The pump track will be a welcome addition to this popular trail system,” says Mayor Andrew Jakubeit. “We want to thank PACA for their efforts to create this exciting amenity and continued focus on making our region a premier cycling destination.”
