VERNON - Police are asking the public to help fill in the blanks regarding several suspects who allegedly forced a woman into confinement, assaulted and threatened her.
RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says the incident took place last Thursday between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. in the area of 35th Avenue and 34th Street and then in the 3700 block of Pleasant Valley Road. The vehicle involved was a blue Toyota 4Runner SUV and Molendyk says as many as five individuals were involved. Two have already been arrested.
“It’s one of those files that has many twists and turns in it,” Molendyk says.
Molendyk says the 28-year-old woman had “previous contact” with the suspects. She sustained minor injuries.
The police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity around this time in either of the two areas to contact Const. Stephanie Bowhey at the police detachment or by emailing stephanie.bowhey@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
The police also learned that a couple was observed helping the victim and would like them to contact the detachment as well.
