UPDATE: Police find mentally ill man in Nanaimo

UPDATE: Police say they've found Kurtis Alderliesten safe in Nanaimo and are no longer have a Form 21 Director's Warrant out on him.

 

Kelowna - Police need help returning a Kelowna man suffering from schizoaffective disorder and paranoia back into medical care.

The man, 30, is wanted by the RCMP on a Form 21 Director's Warrant issued by a medical professional Saturday night. Police were told around 10 p.m. December 21 that Kurtis Alderliesten failed to return to the Kelowna General Hospital after his leave expired. His actions may be unpredictable and he may be a danger to himself and others. 

Mounties say Alderliesten may be on the way to Duncan, B.C.

Alderliesten has not been charged with a criminal offence. The Form 21 Director's Warrant was issued to bring police in to facilitate Alderliesten's return to medical care.

Alderliesten is described as a Caucasian mal, 6'5" tall and 198 lb, Sandy blonde hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket with white stripes on the shoulder and a "Sons of Anarchy" hooded sweater. If seen, do not approach him, rather call 911 immediately.
