KAMLOOPS - A woman died late Tuesday afternoon in a single vehicle car accident on Lac Le Jeune Road at Chuwels Mountain Road.
Both Logan Lake and Kamloops RCMP sent officers to the scene where a 74-year-old woman from Logan Lake was being tended to by good Samaritans, ambulance and fire rescue crews. The injured woman was transported to hospital by helicopter but later succumbed to her injuries.
A traffic reconstructionist and the B.C. Coroner examined the scene and concluded the woman's truck veered over the centre line and went off the road, striking a tree. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
The woman's name has not been released.
The Logan Lake RCMP is asking for public assistance to help them with the details of this accident. Anyone who witnessed the crash or helped the driver may have information the police need. Also, investigators would like to speak with a male witness who called for assistance and was driving a newer white Kenworth gravel truck towing a 26-30 foot flat deck trailer.
Please contact Logan Lake RCMP Const. Dan Schenkeveldat 250-523-6222.
