UPDATE: Stolen pickup truck found

UPDATE: Vernon RCMP have recovered a pickup truck stolen from Rocky Mountain Transport early this morning. It was found in the 3300 block of 22 Street this afternoon.

VERNON - Police are looking to the public to help them locate a Chevy pickup truck reported stolen from Rocky Mountain Transport.

The theft happened overnight, at about 1:50 a.m. from the business located in the 2900 block of 41 Avenue. A caller reported to RCMP that thieves broke a window and once inside they found a box containing keys to trucks parked in the yard. Shortly after Mounties saw someone get into the pickup near 36 Avenue and 33 Street. Officers tried to stop the truck but it sped away. There was no pursuit.

The stolen truck is a black, 1999 Chevy pickup, serial number BCLP EX0085.
