UPDATE: No arrests after suspicious Kelowna death

Original Publication Date June 15, 2015 - 8:25 AM

KELOWNA – Investigators remain on the scene of a suspicious death in Kelowna after the body of a 51-year-old Kelowna man was found in a Bernard Avenue home last night.

RCMP say the body was found at about 8:31 p.m., June 14, at 941 Bernard Ave. and the scene is currently being processed by forensic investigators.

“No one has been taken into custody at this time,” Cpl. Joe Duncan says. “The cause of death is undetermined.”

What makes the death suspicious, Duncan says, is the condition the body was found in but he would not elaborate. He did confirm that several people were in the house at the time the body was found and one of them called the police.

"I don't believe there is any cause for concern about the safety of the community," he says. "The investigators did not say anything about it being (a targeted attack)."

An autopsy has been ordered and results should be back by the end of the week.

The name of the dead man has not been released.

RCMP have set up a Serious Crime Tip Line and are asking anyone with information which could help with the investigation to call 250-470-6236.

You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
