RCMP arrested an Osoyoos man after he did not show for the verdict in a manslaughter case.

Lloyd William Cook, 55, was apprehended at an Osoyoos residence yesterday morning. Cook will be transported to Prince George for court.

Cook has been accused in the death of his stepson. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to show up on Jan. 31 for the scheduled verdict in his B.C. Supreme Court case in Prince George.

Cook was found guilty on Feb. 8 by Justice Glen Parrett of unlawful confinement and interference with a dead body. He was found not guilty of manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.

The crimes Cook has been accused of occurred in 2000. It was not until 2009 that Cook was arrested on the charges.
