Police investigate two robberies

Two armed robberies last night have RCMP in Kelowna and West Kelowna on the lookout.

Police received the first call just before 5 p.m. A man wielding a large kitchen knife demanded money at the Wild Kingdom Erotic Luxury boutique located at 3466 Carrington Rd. in West Kelowna. Mounties say an employee made the call after handing over a small amount of cash to the man, who fled on foot to a waiting vehicle.

 

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5'8" with a slim build. He appeared to be 20 - 25 years of age and was wearing a mask over the lower portion of his face.

 

The vehicle was described as a dark-coloured single cab pickup truck.

 

The second robbery took place just before 9 p.m. at the Subway restaurant on Lawrence Ave. in Kelowna. RCMP say a man produced a knife and demanded money but was refused by employees. He fled on foot.

 

The suspect is described as Caucasian, clean shaven but with a pock-marked face. He appeared to be 25 - 30 years of age and was wearing sunglasses, khaki pants and a dark hoodie.
