The owners of Vernon Auto Wreckers got a bit of surprise when they tuned into the live streaming video and saw a young man lurking about their business.

They called the RCMP who contained the area and using a service dog chased the suspect who fled west on foot across Highway 97 into a creek and was arrested.

Another suspect was also found during the search hiding in a canvass shed. Both suspects are 17-years-old and from Vernon. They were taken to the detachment and turned over to their parents. The two were released on conditions that include not contacting the owners or going near their business.

Police say this is the second time in the past week a suspect has been caught at the business with the aid of a police service dog.
